Machu Picchu Day Trip starts with an early morning transfer from your hotel in Cusco. We will be transferring you to the train station in Poroy (30 mins from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo Train Station (2 Hours from Cusco), depending on availability.
You will be rewarded with staggering views of the Peruvian highland villages tucked amidst the snowcapped Andean peaks. The train would snake through them along the course of the Urubamba river.
After an immersive guided tour of Machu Picchu citadel, you will have an option of hiking Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu mountain. Please note, to protect the authenticity of the peak and to avoid them from being overcrowded, local authorities have imposed permits that allow the access to only 200 people a day.
Permits are often sold out months in advance. If you want to hike, It is highly recommended that you book them atleast six months before.
Machu Picchu nestles in the Peruvian Andes mountain range. It is subject to two seasons, rainy season and dry season. During monsoon, it often gets cloudy and the trails are wet and slippery. We highly recommend doing the Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco sometime between March and October.

Cusco Hotel Transfer

Your epic full day tour to Machu Picchu from Cusco begging with an early morning transfer from your hotel in Cusco. Our representative will be picking you up between 0315 and 0330. We will be embarking on a two hours drive to Ollantayatmbo train station through the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
You can unwind and take a nap in our comfortable transport so that you arrive fresh to board the train to Aguas Calientes for your full day trip to Machu Picchu.
The train ride is an experience on its own. You will witness jaw dropping views of the highland farms and villages tucked under the snow capped Andean peaks.
Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, our representative will meet you at the train station and will transfer you to the bus terminal. Here you will be embarking on a 25 minutes bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
Our tour guide will assist you in passing through the security control where your original passport will be verified against your entrance ticket.
Once inside the citadel, you will witness the golden rays of the risiging sun trouncing upon the Inca walls. We will begin the two hours guided tour with a brief introduction of Machu Picchu and its history.
We will be visiting the prime areas of the citadel like the main plaza, reains of the ceremonial sites, remains of royal quarters and Inca temples. You will be getting a detailed insight into the Inca civilization. After the immersive tour, you will have some free time to soak in the stunning views of Machu Picchu.
If you have booked to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, our guide will be directing you to respective trail head. Alternatively, you can hike to the sungate. This is the point of entrance to those hiking the esteemed Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
It is free to hike to sungate. You will be getting a panoramic view of Machu Picchu from here.
Once you have had your fill of the lost city of the Incas, you will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes. You will have some free time here as well. You can stop at one of the local restaurants for lunch (not included in the price).
Later in the evening, you will be taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. Our representative will be meeting you on arrival and will be driving you back to Cusco City. You will be reaching by 08:00 PM.
