Introduction to the Amazon
Welcome to an unforgettable journey with Inkanto Travel. We begin with your arrival at Puerto Maldonado Airport. Your guide greets you, offering a chance to repack essentials. A car or minivan then transports us to the Tambopata River’s banks.
Here, a boat awaits, guiding us upstream through Tambopata and Malinowski Rivers for about an hour. This journey unfolds the Amazon’s stunning landscapes and riverside fauna. Arriving at the lodge, you’re greeted with a refreshing natural fruit drink. Your room, a serene retreat with essential comforts, opens up to the dense forest.
After lunch, we delve into the jungle’s heart. An interpretive walk among ancient trees reveals their significance and the diverse life they support.
We will explore the environmental, cultural, and economic significance of these trees. We may also spot birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and insects in their natural habitats.
As dusk falls, we navigate the Malinowski River, searching for white alligators in their natural setting. The day concludes with dinner and a peaceful overnight stay at the lodge.

DIA 2
The Best Natural Birdlife and Fishing Show
An early start at 05:00 am takes us back to the rivers, heading to the Ocho Gallinas and Chuncho clay licks. Here, a breathtaking display of avian life unfolds as hundreds of birds feast on mineral-rich clay.
Hundreds of parrots, parakeets, and macaws flock to these clay licks to eat mineral-rich clay. This area of the Amazon has scarce potassium, so the birds consume clay to supplement their diet.
Breakfast is served with this spectacular backdrop, allowing you to immerse in the vibrant birdlife.
Post-lunch, the adventure continues with piranha fishing at Barbón Lake. This serene location offers a chance to spot diverse bird species and possibly the Giant River Otter. As night falls, a jungle walk introduces the nocturnal world of insects, amphibians, and reptiles.
